I'm Lesley-Ann and I am the jeweller and designer creating all the Doodlebugzz pieces of jewellery.
​I make dainty, elegant jewellery that is easy to wear whether its your go to piece for every day , a night out or a special occasion.
​I'm passionate about creating jewellery that is well made, personal, affordable and will last a lifetime . I get huge pleasure in creating pieces that become part of the wearer's story and that may become not only firm favourites to wear but family heirlooms.
I only make jewellery that I would be happy to buy and wear myself and as a lover of shiny silver jewellery a lot of care and attention goes into every detail of my pieces.
As each item is individually handmade no two will every be completely identical. This ensures that even if similar to another piece, your jewellery will be as unique as you. I also have many pieces that are one of a kind designs.
My Story
Like many creative businesses , Doodlebugzz began as a hobby , a way to relax that over the years developed into mild obsession and ultimately , with training, a small business!

I’m originally from Ayr in Scotland and 18 years ago I started playing around with glass painting and beading bracelets to help me deal with panic disorder. I had a husband who worked at sea and three small children so I needed to find something to do to have some time for myself. I loved the idea of making jewellery so I found an adult learner introduction to silver jewellery course at Ayr College where I fell in love with silversmithing. I studied there for a year and learned my basic skills and then fate stepped in when my husband changed to a shore based job and we relocated to the Wirral.
Totally hooked by now and unable to find a similar course I turned to books and online courses where I picked up new skills and techniques. I have also learned a lot as its amazing the things you learn by making mistakes !
I love everything about working with silver and take great pride in creating easy to wear , timeless pieces that range from simple and dainty to statement, bespoke designs.
Until 4 years ago I was mostly fitting in making jewellery around my job as a SEN teaching assistant , selling to friends , collegues, at local makers markets and on etsy. Cue fate again and an episode with my health that made me rethink everything...
I decided to give up my job and make Doodlebugzz my full time business. I work from home in my workshop at the bottom of the garden which was a bonus during the pandemic! In early 2022 I decided it was time for a proper industry qualification so I studied through the London Jewellery School for a Diploma in Fine Jewellery.
I am assisted in the workshop by my 3 legged furry companion Jerry who sleeps through most of the noise unless he wants a cuddle!
I work mostly in sterling silver with some gold accents, copper and gemstones . I only make pieces that I would be happy to wear or buy myself.
Many of my pieces can be personalised to make them truly unique to the wearer . My favourite pieces to make have to be the hand stamped bangles which can carry a message stamped either on the outside or inside of the bangle . This can be a private message , quote , date or initials to mark a birthday, anniversary, special occasion or in memorial.
I also love the fine silver leaves which can be made from wedding bouquets to create a memory of your special day that will last forever.
I am happy to take commissions and seek out just the right gemstones to make your piece perfect .
